POP UP Star Book Tutorial

Hi There
Hope you are all well this week.

Ive recently been asked if I would do a Tutorial on the POP UP Star Book I made last year. So here it is and there's lots of pictures. Hope you like it.
Using a double sided patterened Designer paper of your choice cut out 5 squares 3'' x 3'' and two smaller ones 1.5'' x 1.5'' and Distress Edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
Score and fold down the centre of all 5 of the larger squares.
Turn and repeat so all 5 squares should now look like the picture above.

Carefully score diagonally and fold, but only do this once.

Now fold all five squares where scored and it should look like this. Here we fold the diagonal line inwards.

With the open folded area to the outside adhere all 5 pieces together.

************

Before we adhere the outer book ends add a piece of ribbon and secure. Do this on both ends.
Thread both ribbons through one bead. This helps hold the bead in place when the star book is open.

When open it should look like this. Ive embellished with  Mini Skating Tilda.

and this is what it looks like when closed. They make fantastic tags for your Chrismas presents and believe me they are so easy to make.

Thankyou so much for visiting me.
Bye for now
Hugs

Hi There
I hope you are all having a great week and looking forward to the weekend.
Today to share is a card I have made from all the inspiration Ive got this week from my walks with my little pooch!.  I do love this time of year and all the vibrant colours around.
I dont know about you but I have leaves everywhere at home and for some reason  I seem to collect them all in my garden!! The picture above was me half an hour ago!!!hee hee
For my card I have used Tilda With Broom from the Autumn Leaves Collection and painted with DI's.

I have also used Magnolia 'Tilda's Wall' 'African Sun'!(A moon in my case!!):)
Doo-Hickey-Old Oak Tree and Tilda's Tag

It's only a few days now until Halloween. My son turns 16 on Monday and Im really hoping he realises he is too old to go Halloweening this year. I mean a 6ft 4'' young man dressed as Dracula on your doorstep is just a little bit intimidating dont you think???As lovely as he is!!!....Sometimes!!ha ha

Song Inspiration at MDUC

Hi There
Its Song Inspiration time at MDUC this week.
Why is it when Im painting my images, songs immediately come into my head and this week when I have to think of one I cant!!!!
Last week when I was painting Santa Lucia Tilda I was humming 'Light up Light up' by Leona Lewis!!! (Run)....typical!!ha ha

So I remembered I had the Wham 'Last Christmas' stamp from Magnolia to fall back on! One of my favourite Christmas songs too being one of  Whams biggest fans.!

I used one of the new Magnolias  'Tilda With A Big Bouquet' and I'm surprised I havent seen her yet around blogland because I thought she would be so popular. I think she's gorgeous.

I also used my Pinecones die and Trees.

Challenge Im entering is
Tilda's Town- Merry Christmas

Thanks so much for looking

Midway reminder at CLP

Hiya Again
Today is the half way reminder at CLP. There's another fabulous sketch to get to grips with. :D
I have used a new stamp from Magnolia. She is another Lucia stamp but Im not sure of her real name yet.
In Sweden on December 13th the festival of Santa Lucia begins. It is a  Scandinavian tradition  where the eldest daughter of the family dresses in a white gown with a red sash and seven candles in her hair. There is more about the story here,
I used an older St Lucia stamp on my Sunday workshop post HERE

I have also used a new stamp Magnolia 'Old Swedish Church' (Love this background)
painted with Di's
plus I got the chance to play with my new Tims Sizzix \die

Papers are Pion Design.
Ribbon and Cream flowers from The Ribbon Girl
Unique Laser Die cuts from Monique and Angela

Hope you like it xx
Big Hugs

Sunday at Magnolia Weekend

Hiya
Well here's the last of my pictures from the Magnolia weekend. I really cant believe its a week ago now:(
This is the card we were doing on the Sunday. It was a tad more difficult than the Saturday Workshop and we ran over a little on our 2 hours!!!!Whoops...... so sorry girls if I was rushing you !!!hee hee

Theses were the girls who came to the first workshop.Susanne, Lisa, and Marijke came back for more and we were also joined by Mia and Maria and they were all brilliant.

And this is what they did! WOW  Fantastic. Which is mine???
A couple more pictures of the shop

and all the yummy stamps
and
then home I went :(

This picture above is a picture I took on my phone on the following Monday morning when I got home. I go here to walk my dog 4/5 times a week and is only 10 minutes from where I live. The Abbey in the background is also where we were married and I just love it here. A four mile walk in a morning is a great way to clear my head and was perfect after an amazing weekend :)

Thankyou so much for looking and to all the amazing ladies for their support on my first ever workshops and of course Camilla, Chris, Lillemore, Alberto and his Mama, Monique and Angela for a great time and MOST of all Magnolia for asking me. It was an amazing weekend I will never forget.
Bye for now

Saturday At Magnolia Sweden

Hi There
Well Im back with pics from my first EVER workshop in my life!!
Its not something I will make a habit of, but being in Sweden was a bonus and I had the most loveliest of ladies on my first workshop.
This was a picture before we began. Me on the left, Angela, Monique, Camilla,  Alberto,Lillemor and Chris..(Why the hell im posing with my hand on my hip!?!?! I dont know)!!LOL
Meeting these lovely people was just the best. Though we did become well equainted when we were all trapped in the lift when we got there with EDWIN (yes the real Edwin)!!...so funny

Then the workshop began!!! ARggghhhh
We were in a lovely quiet room at the side of the main shop and I couldnt of wished for a better group of amazing girlies.
My first workshop was in Sepia, so all we used was Walnut Stain and Black Soot Distress Inks.

One of them was Louise who I have been with on MDUC with for the last three years. To actually finally meet her was one of the highlights of my day,but I think she saw me at my worst!!!ha ha (nerves, squeaky voice, red eyes with no sleep)!!! ha ha ah...oh and the shaky hand!!!!

The rest were great and were so lovely with me. They were from the left
Marijke from Holland, Hana and Sarka from the Czech Republic, Louise and Annette from Sweden.

and this is what they did!!! WOW.....AMAZING

In the afternoon the 2nd workshop began. Again the ladies were just as amazing. Two of them had even camped outside the whole night in their campervan in the Car Park!!! and their men too!! hee hee....just fabulous..(((wave to them too)) :-)
They were Susanne, Lisa, Jeanette, Lisa and Monica

and this is what they did :)
As Brucy says 'Didnt they do well'... Oh yes they certainly did :)
Thankyou to all of you ladies. You made my day extra special :)

Back soon with day 2
Hugs

It all was a dream come true for me.
Ive met the most wonderful peolple I could of dreamed to meet.
The picture above is when John had just collected us from the Airport.
We were all so excited, the first thing we wanted to do was take a picture of the most famous doorway.

I will tell you more when Ive come back down to earth, but my brain still isnt funtioning properly yet!!!LOL
It has all been a whirlwind.

Here are a few pictures from the Magnolia store.

Such beautiful things, I just wanted everything for my house.

I will be back soon with more pictures from my workshops and the amazing results the fabulous ladies achieved.
They helped my weekend be so special because I have never took a workshop before. I have never felt confident enough to and was so nervous. But these lovely ladies made it so special for me.
